Outdoor events!

Often times the National Park participates in a State wide event which closes off major highways for guests to walk around and enjoy activities. This list may not contain all of the activities so sign up with out page to learn more, but the activities include the following:

  • 20 Mile Bike race
  • Dogwood festival
  • Corgi race
  • Field Day
  • OktoberFest

Please take this rules into consideration, if failure to adhere to them we will not be held liable for accidents or damages:
  1. Keep Children close. We have had accidents that resulted in serious injuries and fatalities near the cliffs
  2. We do not reccomend untrained dogs running the race. Dog fights have broken out and dogs have been very injured before.
  3. Stay hydrated. Temperatures can reach dangerous levels during mid-day and "safe cabin" can be spread out too far to get water
  4. Children will not and must not take off life vest until 500yards away from the water
